TOP NEWCOMERS: N/A SEASON OUTLOOK Coach Steve Johnson says, "The Cavaliers are coming off an 8-6 season and finished a disappointing third place in the Mid State 2A Conference. The Cavaliers did finish well as they made it to the third round of the state playoffs, where they lost to state runner-up South Columbus. The team is going to try to rebound with young players. They will be short on numbers as the team expects only 28 players for the 2008 campaign and most of those will be underclassmen. In order to be successful, the Cavaliers will need to overcome low numbers and lack experience for them to be competitive in the conference and earn a playoff berth. They also must miss out on the injury bug that hurt them last year. The success of the 2008 year will be the rise of the young, but athletic players and the heart and leadership of the few experienced players."
